Billionaire Elon Musk has defended his efforts to cut costs across the federal government during an appearance in the Oval Office alongside US president Donald Trump. Taking questions from reporters, he asserted without evidence that his team at the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has uncovered fraud and wastefulness.
