About the show:

Moses Lim is Tan Ah Teck” left an indelible mark on Singapore’s 90s pop culture but was also a landmark moment for the entertainment industry in Singapore, as this represented the first crossover for a Chinese-speaking Channel 8 artiste to perform in English on Channel 5. After him, many artistes followed, given the bilingual nature of most in Singapore.

But how did Moses get here? Starting as a crosstalk performer at age eight, he later placed first runner up in an amateur emcee competition organised by Radio Television Singapore (RTS). Despite his father’s objections, his entertainment career took off with his wife’s support and a comedy partnership with Jack Neo, leading to Comedy Night in 1990.

Beyond his iconic roles, Moses also ventured into Hong Kong, and remained a popular figure in Singapore, winning the Top 10 Most Popular Male Artiste award in Mediacorp’s 2004 Star Awards.

Join us, as we look back on Moses Lim’s legacy as an entertainer, making a whole generation of Singaporeans laugh, and inspiring the fellow actors he worked with.
