US Vice-President JD Vance is headed for Greenland. The trip is now scaled back from what had originally been intended after anger from the Danish government. He is expected to fly to the US military base at Pituffik to the north of Greenland. Greenland is a semi-autonomous Danish territory. But US President Donald Trump, from his first term in office, has taken the line that Washington should take control of the island. That has sparked friction, with the Danish prime minister calling Mr Vance’s initial plans “unacceptable”. AP Correspondent Philip Crowther reports from Nuuk, Greenland.
