SINGAPORE: A train fault along the Circle Line caused delays between several stations during the peak-hour commute on Tuesday morning (May 20).
Train operator SMRT posted an alert on its Facebook page at 8.26am, telling commuters to expect an additional 30 minutes of travel time between Paya Lebar and Buona Vista MRT stations.
“Free regular bus services are available between Serangoon and Buona Vista,” it added.
SMRT said in an update at 8.41am that services were “progressively resuming”. About 10 minutes later, it said services had fully resumed and free bus services had ceased.
The train fault had occurred between the Botanic Gardens and Farrer Road MRT stations at around 8.15am.
“Our staff immediately responded to resolve the fault,” it added.
