SINGAPORE: Prime Minister Lawrence Wong is delivering his National Day Rally speech from the Institute of Technical Education’s Ang Mo Kio campus.
Speaking first in Malay, he announced that the new Islamic college will be located next to the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) in Rochor.
In his Mandarin speech, Mr Wong said a training programme will be launched to nurture the next generation of Chinese community leaders.
The National Day Rally is often described as the most important political address of the year. Mr Wong’s English speech starts at 8pm.
