More kidney patients in Singapore can soon opt for overnight treatment. The National Kidney Foundation is expanding its capacity of handling such dialysis. Each night session is between six and seven hours, compared to the four hours for daytime treatments. The overnight dialysis helps remove toxins and fluid more gently, reducing strain on the heart. Currently, NKF’s two centres at Hougang and Clementi can accommodate 36 patients each week. By 2027, this will expand to 250 slots across five centres in different regional zones.
