JAKARTA: Indonesian police fired tear gas at protesters who were out on the streets of Jakarta again on Friday (Aug 29), amid growing anger over the death of a motorcycle delivery rider the night before.
Demonstrators want accountability for those responsible for the death of Affan Kurniawan, reforms with the National Police and for the police chief to resign or be replaced.
The officers who were inside the armoured vehicle that killed the 21-year-old motorcycle rideshare driver were found on Friday to have violated the police code of ethics.
