1128 COLLINS SETS UP KEYS CLASH
Former Australian Open finalist and 10th seed Danielle Collins overcame a second-set scare to beat Australian qualifier Destanee Aiava 7-6(4) 4-6 6-2 to reach the third round, where she will face fellow American and 19th seed Madison Keys.

Holger Rune beat Italian Matteo Berrettini 7-6(3) 2-6 6-3 7-6(6) in an absorbing contest at John Cain Arena. Berrettini had the opportunity to take it to five sets but Rune forced a tiebreak and advanced.
“He made it tricky for me and at the end it was a huge battle,” Rune said. “Some moments – a lot of tension today because of the score, but it was fun. I enjoyed every moment.”

Emma Raducanu, the 2021 U.S. Open champion, overcame a hip issue to eliminate American Amanda Anisimova in a 6-3 7-5 victory.
It is the first time the 22-year-old Raducanu has progressed to the third round at Melbourne Park. The British player will next face world number two Iga Swiatek.
“I’m loving it. It’s another opportunity to test my game … I think obviously she’s (Swiatek) achieved so much already and I think going into it, I have nothing to lose. I’m just going to swing. I’m going to give it my best and I can’t wait to play in front of you guys,” Raducanu said.

Polish second seed Iga Swiatek, chasing a sixth Grand Slam crown and a first at Melbourne Park, wasted little time in beating Slovak Rebecca Sramkova 6-0 6-2.

Play began on schedule on the fifth day of the Australian Open at Melbourne Park with the temperature hovering around 17 degrees Celsius (62.6 degrees Fahrenheit).
Second seed Iga Swiatek will be in action on Rod Laver Arena later, while defending men’s champion Jannik Sinner will take to the court in the evening session.
Italians Jasmine Paolini and Matteo Berrettini are among those playing on the showcourts. Other top seeds on the schedule include Taylor Fritz and Daniil Medvedev.
