Third round action got underway as scheduled under sunny skies on day seven of the championships.
The temperature was already 22 degrees Celsius (72F) at the Melbourne Park precinct and is forecast to peak at 28 in the late afternoon.
Women’s second seed Iga Swiatek was first up on the main showcourt Rod Laver Arena looking to maintain her perfect record against Emma Raducanu in a battle of former U.S. Open champions.
