Concern is growing in the United Kingdom about so-called “forever chemicals”. A recent study says that unless more is done to limit their use, the cost to try to remove them from their natural environment could be as much as US$12 billion a year. Even the targeted clean-up of known polluted areas, like landfills and old factories, would run into billions. John Bevir reports.
