The Gardens by the Bay and Mediacorp National Day Concert will return for its sixth iteration on Aug 4. The free event will be held at The Meadow at Gardens by the Bay and will feature performances from Singaporean singer-actress Olivia Ong, rapper Yung Raja, Taufik Batisah, Benjamin Kheng and more.

Kheng will also be performing the theme song of this year’s National Day Parade, Not Alone, live for the first time.

Hosted by popular radio personalities Avery Yeo and Hazelle Teo, the concert also marks the first time that President Tharman Shanmugaratnam will attend as a guest of honour. He and his wife, Ms Jane Ittogi will do a self-introduction in sign language, before leading the audience in reciting the pledge during the finale, as members from the Singapore Association for the Deaf accompany with sign language.

In addition, performing groups in the community such as Diverse Abilities Dance Collective, will mark their first appearance at the concert, as they perform together with local artistes.

Attendees can also look forward to a wide range of pre-concert festivities including go-kart races and nostalgic carnival games. There’ll also be booths giving out free light sticks, temporary tattoo stickers and potted plants.

Those who can’t physically attend the concert need not worry as it will also air on mewatch, Channel 5 and Mediacorp Entertainment on YouTube on Aug 17 from 7:30pm to 9pm.
