Governments across Asia are cracking down on DeepSeek, amid growing concerns that the Chinese AI chatbot could compromise national security. South Korea is the latest to block DeepSeek’s access to various governmental departments. The app can no longer be accessed on work-related computers in its military, while restrictions are also in place in the defence, trade, finance, foreign ministries and the police force. China has denied claims that the app is collecting data, adding that the government has never and will never require enterprises or individuals to illegally collect or store data.
