Today marks two decades since a catastrophic tsunami changed millions of lives across the Indian Ocean. In its wake, more than 1,200 personnel from the Singapore Armed Forces toiled over two months as part of the international response. That rescue and relief mission remains the SAF’s largest to date. Many believe the lessons learnt then — such as the importance of collaboration and compassion — are still relevant today. Alif Amsyar spoke to those who were at the frontlines.
