International uproar over US President Donald Trump’s plans for the future of the Gaza Strip. He said he wants America to “take over” the besieged enclave and make it a “Riviera of the Middle East”. He was speaking after meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House. Mr Trump also repeated his call for permanently moving Palestinians out of Gaza and into neighbouring countries — which goes against the US’ longstanding position of a two-state solution.
