DUBAI : Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group has appointed Yoshi Katsuda as regional head for the Middle East based in Dubai, Japan’s largest bank by assets said in a statement on Wednesday.

Katsuda, who joined MUFG 25 years ago, has held senior positions at the bank in both the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region and Japan, where he was head of Global Corporate Banking Office in the GCIB Planning Division in Tokyo.

His appointment will be effective Sept. 20 and he will report to MUFG EMEA regional executive Hidefumi Yamamura.

“I am delighted to have Yoshi take up this post to lead the team in MENA. This region remains a globally important centre of client business and I am sure he will continue to strengthen and grow our success there,” Yamamura was quoted as saying in the statement.
