You’re rushing to get to work but your child’s crying and incessant scratching are worrying you. Or Junior’s diarrhoea is making you wonder if you should work from home the next day.

During uncertain situations like these, you’ll be glad to know that KK Women’s And Children’s Hospital (KKH) has launched on Jul 4 a video consultation service for non-emergencies called KK TelePaeds.

Under this pilot programme by KKH’s Children’s Emergency, you can consult a team of specialists via Zoom and even book an appointment slot a day in advance.

The service will also deliver the medicine to your address if required. Electronic medical certificate and specialist referrals can be provided as well.

Parents and caregivers will need a Singpass account to book an online appointment. Children from ages three to 17 are eligible.

The English-speaking online service is available from Monday to Friday (except public holidays) from 10am and 6pm. The video consultation costs S$118. Medication delivery within four to six hours is an optional S$4.99, free if you self-collect from the KKH Children’s Emergency pharmacy.

Suitable medical conditions include diarrhoea, mild abdominal cramps; dry skin, eczema flare, skin infection; and respiratory tract illnesses (sore throat, runny nose, cough) with fever for less than five days.

However, KK TelePaeds is not for urgent or emergency care. You should call 995 or head for the nearest medical facility instead.
