In his last speech as secretary-general of the Singapore’s People’s Action Party at the PAP Convention on Sunday (Nov 24), Mr Lee Hsien Loong said he was happy that leadership transition has gone well over the past two years, but Singapore cannot take such orderly transitions for granted. Mr Lee, who is also Senior Minister, said when Deputy Secretary-General Lawrence Wong takes over him as leader of the PAP, he intends to continue in the party’s central executive committee in an advisory role.
