Facebook and Instagram’s parent company Meta has banned RT and some other Russian media organisations. Meta has accused the Russian outlets of foreign interference — an allegation fully supported by the US State Department. The ban marks a sharp escalation from the world’s biggest social media company against Russian state media. Previously, Meta only limited ad capabilities and reduced the reach of their posts.
