With a month to the US election, Big Tech is under scrutiny over how it will fend off bad actors on its platforms. US officials have expressed concern about disruptions from disinformation on Facebook. Meta’s president of global affairs Nick Clegg told CNA’s Elizabeth Neo that the platform is doing as much as it can to ensure political discussions can be conducted safely and openly. He was speaking on the sidelines of the launch of Meta’s AI accelerator programme for Asia-Pacific start-ups.
