Residents in Taman Jurong will now have a more direct route to amenities like the Lakeside train station or schools, with a new pedestrian bridge linking areas previously separated by a river. Some say they no longer have to make detours and can save about five minutes a trip. The crossing, repurposed from an overhead bridge which was located at Marymount Road, also illustrates Singapore’s push towards more sustainable infrastructure.
