SINGAPORE: No tickets for the ASEAN Championship semi-final clash between Singapore and Vietnam will be sold on the day of the match, said the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) on Tuesday (Dec 24).

FAS had previously said that around 300 away tickets would only be available for purchase from 3pm to 30 minutes after kick-off of the match.

However, in a social media post on Tuesday, FAS said that away tickets have been “allocated through the Vietnam Football Federation” (VFF).

In response to CNA’s queries, an FAS spokesman said the decision to allocate tickets for the away section exclusively through the VFF was made after “careful consideration and consultation” with their Vietnamese counterparts.

“Given the limited capacity of Jalan Besar Stadium, it was important to ensure that the tickets designated for the away section were managed efficiently,” said the spokesperson.

“We recognise the VFF’s close relationship with its officially recognised fan groups, and this approach allows us to support their efforts in coordinating the attendance of organised Vietnamese supporters for the match.”
