Singapore’s Olympic medal hopeful Max Maeder says his long-term deferment
from National Service until 2028 will go a long way in supporting his sporting dreams. The 17-year-old adds that this gives him the assurance he can continue to train and compete full-time. The kitefoiler is the sixth sportsman to be granted an NS deferment. He was due for enlistment when he turns 18 in September. Alif Amsyar reports.
