According to accounts from commuters, the disruption occurred just before 6pm.

An announcement made at Circle Line stations advised passengers to alight from trains and seek other transport options. Commuters were also stopped from tapping into the stations.

At about 5.55pm, passengers were allowed into the stations, but trains were still not moving.

Over at Pasir Panjang station, commuters were told to alight from trains at about 6pm and to seek other transport options. 

At Holland Village station, an announcement was made stating that train services would be affected due to a power fault.

An X user also reported that the train travelling between one-north and Buona Vista had no lights and air-conditioning. A photo accompanying the post showed a packed train carriage with commuters in partial darkness.

At about 6.15pm, lights for trains at Pasir Panjang station were turned back on, with an announcement stating that train services had resumed, according to a commuter.
