The town where England’s High Speed Rail project was meant to terminate says it’s facing bankruptcy after the government cancelled the second part of the planned route.Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said in October the benefits of the second phase would be better achieved through smaller, alternative projects in the region. So the High Speed 2 project – known as HS2 – has had its route radically shortened. Stuart Smith tells us how that’s affecting communities in England.
