United States President Donald Trump is doubling down on efforts to withdraw federal funding from Harvard University, now calling the institution a “joke” and accusing it of teaching “hate and stupidity”. Sources familiar with the matter say that the Internal Revenue Service is making plans to rescind the tax-exempt status of the university and the final decision is expected soon. This follows Harvard’s refusal to comply with White House demands, which reportedly included reporting foreign-born students who violate the university’s code of conduct to federal authorities.
