US President Donald Trump has followed through with his campaign pledge, enacting a sweeping crackdown on migrants crossing US borders. He has declared illegal immigration a national emergency, empowering the defence secretary to send American soldiers to the US-Mexico border if needed. He issued a broad ban on asylum, and took steps to end automatic citizenship granted to children born in America to undocumented migrants. Toni Waterman reports from Eagle Pass, Texas.
