US President Donald Trump is scheduled to hold a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin in around two hours. Mr Putin did not appear at in-person negotiations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Türkiye last week. European leaders are demanding that Moscow accept an immediate ceasefire in a 30-day unconditional truce proposed by Washington and backed by Ukraine and the EU.
