China says it remains “open to dialogue” with the US, after president-elect Donald Trump vowed to impose sweeping tariffs on Chinese goods once he steps into office. Mr Trump pledged a 25 per cent tariff on all products from Mexico and Canada and an additional 10 per cent tariff on goods from China. This in response to concerns surrounding illegal drug trade and immigration.
