Russia has reacted swiftly to Washington’s approval of Ukraine’s use of US-made weapons on Russian soil. The Kremlin has said this will heighten tensions and further entrench US involvement in the Ukraine war. Russian ally China has renewed calls for a political solution to the conflict. While France and Germany approved of Washington’s decision, Hungary warned it would expand the Ukraine war to a “global scale”. Megumi Lim reports from Kyiv.
