Enjoy the chills of the winter season by relishing a warm bowl of Burmese Samosa Soup. Chef Aruna Vijay shared a recipe to prepare it at home. 

A Unique Recipe

• 2 tbsp oil • 1/2 cup chopped onion • 1 tbsp chopped ginger • 1 tbsp chopped garlic • 1 green chilli • 3 tbsp chopped coriander stem • 1 bay leaf • 1 dry red chilli • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder • 3/4 tsp coriander powder • 3/4 tsp red chilli powder • 1/4 tsp garam masala • 2-3 tbsp roasted besan • 3 tbsp tamarind water • 1/4 cup black chana • Salt • 3-4 cups water • Cabbage • Carrot

• Heat oil in a pan and saute onion, ginger, garlic, bay leaf, green chilli, dried red chilli, and coriander stem for a few minutes.

• Next, add salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, and garam masala to the cooked mixture.

• Mix roasted besan and water for a lump-free smooth slurry.

• In the next step, pour the besan mixture and 2-3 cups of water into the sauteed veggies.

•  Add black chana and tamarind water. Boil for a few minutes till the consistency thickens.

Lastly, serve freshly cooked soup in a bowl and top with samosas. Garnish with julienned carrot, cabbage, and chopped coriander leaves and enjoy.
