According to a study published in  The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, it was revealed that foods  that “undergo intense industrial processing, lose their nutrition.”

This means that your favourite ultra-processed foods (UPFs) like packed junk food, sugar-loaded drinks, mass-produced bread, fruit yoghurt, sugar-filled breakfast cereals, and meat alternatives can cause you to age faster.

What The Study Says  

As per Moneycontrol, biological age is influenced by genetics and lifestyle habits such as diet and exercise.

Shocking Results 

The study, conducted on Italians, revealed that middle-aged and elderly participants who got more than 14% of their daily calories from UPFs seemed to be biologically older than their chronological age.

Report Based On

For this report, 22,500 study participants had to fill out a food questionnaire and measure 36 biomarkers in their blood to calculate their biological age.
