Yakuta Yamani AKA Alia Bakes has a shared a lovely Diwali recipe for Sugar-Free Beetroot Halwa.

4 raw small beetroots (shredded) 1 Tbsp of clarified butter/unsalted butter 8-10 pitted dates soaked in 1/2 cup hot milk 2 cups of whole milk 1 tsp of cardamom 1/4 of cup mawa (milk curds)

First, soak the dates in warm milk.

Then, take a shallow non-stick pan and add ghee into it. Next, add shredded beetroots and milk and cook till the milk is reduced to half on medium-heat.

Once the milk is reduced to half, add the date mixture, ground cardamom and keep stirring.

When the beetroot mixture is complete mushy and cooked, take it off the heat.

Add mawa and stir to the cooled down mixture and stir. Finally, garnish the dish with slivered pistachios and edible silver leaf. Your Sugar-Free Beetroot Halwa sweetened with dates, is ready!
