If you love mushrooms, then you need to try this hack to keep them fresh and perfect while cooking.

Chef Kathleen Ashmore took to Instagram to share a hack that will  help you cook “golden and caramelised” mushrooms, instead of  “grey and soggy” ones.

Let Them Sweat Out!

The chef explains that mushrooms contain 90% water! That’s why,  while it’s best to let them “sweat it out”  in a dry pan. 

Add Fat Once Dry

Now, once the mushrooms dry out,  only then you need to add in fat like  oil or butter. 

Salt At End

She also mentions that salt needs to be added at the end as it “draws out the moisture” from the mushrooms.

Don’t Overcrowd 

Remember not to overcrowd the pan  and give the mushrooms space in the vessel to steam till they achieve that golden brown.
