Make Paruppu Podi At Home 

Paruppu Podi or Kandi Podi is a dry spice mixture that goes great with dosas and idlis. Vlogger South cookery has a fabulous recipe.

Ingredients 

1/2 cup of toor dal 1/4 cup of chana dal 1/4 cup of moong dal 1/4 cup of roasted split gram 1 tsp of oil 1/2 tbsp of cumin seeds 1 tsp of pepper Tamarind a small piece 8 dried Guntur red chillies 2 sprigs of curry leaves 1/2 tsp of hing Salt to taste

Step 1 

First, dry roast toor dal, chana dal and moong dal on medium heat. Then, add the roasted split gram.

Keep roasting it till it turns slightly brown. Transfer the roasted lentils on a plate and let it cool.

Step 2 

Then, add oil to a kadhai and add pepper, cumin seeds, tamarind, curry leaves, chillies and keep frying on low heat. Remove and let it cool.

Step 3

Transfer the roasted spices in a mixer with hing and salt and blend it.

Step 4

Then, add the roasted dal into the same blender with the previous mixture and blend again to make the podi. Your Paruppu Podi is ready.
