160g softened butter (salted or unsalted) 120g powdered sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 50 ml milk 200g refined flour 6g unsweetened cocoa powder 10g matcha powder (optional) Green food colouring Icing sugar (for dusting)
1. Take some butter in a bowl and whip for a few seconds. 2. Add powdered sugar & vanilla. 3. Whisk till pale & stiff peaks.
4. Now, sift in flour and fold until combined.
5. Take 75g of this batter & mix it with the cocoa powder & keep it aside. 6. Mix matcha powder & green food colour in the remaining batter. 7. Transfer both batters into individual piping bags with a star nozzle.
8. Now, on a lined baking tray, pipe out the trunk of the tree with the chocolate batter & then using the matcha batter pipe out the tree. 9. Bake them in a preheated oven at 150°C for 20 mins.
10. Let them cool down and dust them with some icing sugar.
