United Nations secretary general Antonio Guterres called on the world to look for 21st century solutions to 21st century problems. He was addressing world leaders at the UN Summit of the Future, taking place ahead of the annual high-level UN General Assembly. At the two-day summit that ended on Monday (Sep 23), nations adopted a “pact of the future” to turn promises into action. Top of mind among member states were the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, and how to deliver on promises around climate change, emerging technology and gender equality.
