The World Trade Organization warns that global trade is expected to plunge this year, due to United States President Donald Trump’s tariff policies. It slashed its forecast for the volume of world merchandise trade from a solid growth to a decline, despite the 90-day reprieve from the administration’s “reciprocal tariffs”. The WTO has raised the alarm over the possibility of a deeper slump, if Trump carries through on his toughest tariffs. Ross Cullen reports.
