Popular Singaporean entertainer Suhaimi Yusof was hospitalised on Monday (Apr 29), following a stroke. Speaking to Malay news outlet Berita Mediacorp from his ward in Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Suhaimi said: “The doctor conducted multiple tests and confirmed that I suffered a [cerebellar] stroke. My condition is stable but I’ll probably be here for treatment for a week.”

A cerebellar stroke happens when a blood vessel is blocked or is bleeding, interrupting the blood supply to the cerebellum – the part of the brain that regulates motor movement and balance control.

According to Suhaimi, he had just left his house to attend a Hari Raya event at Eunos Community Centre. However, he felt that his “head was spinning” as soon as he exited the lift.

“Thankfully, I managed to call my wife who immediately called for an ambulance.”

Suhaimi and his wife Siti Yuhana Sulaiman have requested that members of the public not make any speculations regarding his health. They also expressed their thanks to concerned family members and friends.
