On Wednesday (Aug 21), South Korean agency The Black Label announced the first member of its upcoming girl group Meovv (pronounced ‘meow’): American actress-model Ella Gross.
Going by the mononym Ella, the 15-year-old is a familiar face within the K-pop community due to her close friendship with the members of the girl group Blackpink. As a child, Ella appeared in numerous livestreams and pictures with Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Lisa – with some fans calling her ‘mini Jennie’ due to her resemblance to the Solo singer.
Nonetheless, Ella has made a name for herself over the years – modelling for the likes of Zara, Levi’s and Fendi. She has also appeared in television shows such as Star Trek: Picard and Malibu Rescue.
