Columbia University began suspending pro-Palestinian protesters who refused to disperse despite a deadline of 2pm on Monday (Apr 29). The protesters had put up dozens of tents in campus to express opposition to Israel’s war in Gaza. Similar encampments have been set up elsewhere, including at UCLA and Texas State university, as students protest Israel’s operation in Gaza and the perceived complicity of their schools in it.
