China has said it believes that Iran can handle its tensions with Israel well and spare the Middle East further turmoil. In a phone call, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian discussed Iran’s attack on Israel. Beijing has said Tehran is willing to exercise restraint and has no intention of further escalating tensions. Meanwhile, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said he has sent letters to 32 countries, asking them to sanction Tehran’s missile programme and label Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps a terrorist organisation.
