More than 50 people have been killed in Israeli air strikes across Gaza overnight, including one that hit a school sheltering displaced Palestinians. It is the latest in an expanded assault by the Israeli military aimed at defeating Hamas. Meanwhile, the head of a controversial US and Israeli-backed aid distribution programme for Gaza has resigned. Jake Wood quit as executive director of The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. He said it was impossible to do his job while staying in line with principles of neutrality and independence. Trent Murray reports from Tel Aviv.
