Palestinian officials said at least 45 people have been killed in an Israeli air strike on a camp in Gaza’s Rafah city. Countries, including Egypt and Saudi Arabia, have condemned the attack, while Qatar warned the incident could hinder negotiations for a deal on a ceasefire and the release of hostages. Gaza’s civil defence agency said many of the dead were charred by the flames. Rescue efforts were hampered by a lack of water needed to extinguish the fire. Survivors say the area in northwest Rafah had been declared a safe zone by the IDF. Sarah Coates reports from Tel Aviv.
