Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused Russia of playing for time to continue the war. He also called for more international sanctions to put more pressure onto Moscow. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump announced yesterday that both Russia and Ukraine will “immediately” start peace talks, following a two-hour phone call with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Mr Trump had hailed the conversation as a “breakthrough”, as he increases pressure on both Moscow and Kyiv to agree to a ceasefire.
